View / Edit Pay Rates and Wages - TWP

Supervisor level logins cannot see pay rates or wages by default in TimeWorksPlus. This article explains how to give supervisors that capability through the Login Maintenance page. It applies only to TimeWorksPlus accounts that are using the PayRates processing rule.

Can See Wages Permission

The Login Maintenance page can be found from the application's Maintenance Menu. On that page will be a list of all Client and Supervisor logins for the account.
  1. Click the login of the supervisor who needs the ability to see pay rates and wages.
  2. Under the Update Permissions section, check the Can See Wages option.
If the permission list also has Can Access Employee Setup checked, they will also be able to see pay rates in Employee Setup.

Editing Pay Rates in Employee Setup

When a supervisor has the Can See Wages permission as well as the Can Access Employee Setup permission, they will be able to view the pay rates in Employee Setup, but not edit them. 

In order for Supervisor level logins to edit pay rates in Employee Setup
  1. Select PayRates from the Processing Rules page.
  2. In the 2nd option field on the page, enter #SUPERVISOR
  3. Click Save.
NOTE: Client level users have the ability to edit pay rates in Employee Setup by default.

Editing Pay Rates on Time Card

In addition to giving supervisors the ability to view pay rates on the time card, there is also the option to edit the pay rates on the time card with an edit. This is useful if a manager at any level wants to override a pay rate on the time card.

This is an account-wide permission that can be given to Client level users only or, Client level users and Supervisor level users who have the Can See Wages permission.
  1. Select PayRates from the Processing Rules page.
  2. In the field to the left of "Is the pay rate editable on the time card?" enter
    • #CLIENT to allow editing by client level users, but not by supervisor level users.
    • #SUPERVISOR to allow editing by Client and Supervisor level users who have Can See Wages enabled in Login Maintenance. If the supervisor also has the Can Access Employee Setup permission, they will also be able to edit the rates in Employee Setup for their visible employees. 
  3. Click Save.
NOTE: At this time permissions to edit can only be set by login level (Client, Supervisor, Employee) and cannot be applied differently on a per login level.
