FAQ: Can an employee still swipe a card if the clock has a print reader?

Yes. One of the only reasons someone may use a card or a PIN instead of their print is because they cannot get a good read from their finger print.

To use a swipe card just be sure that the card number has been saved in one of the card number fields of the employee set up.

To use just a PIN, be sure that this number is saved in one of the card number fields of the employee set up. As long as this PIN is NOT associated to a print, they will be able to key this in at the time of clock in.

** NOTE: To use a PIN only be sure that you have changed the ‘ManualClock’ options.
  • TimeWorksPlus Go to the Account Configuration tab in the Client Configuration screen. Set the Keypad Entry Restriction to Any number up to 9 digits allowed.
  • TimeWorks In the Miscellaneous Settings set the Manual Clock to Any number up to 9 digits allowed.
Both these menus are found through the Accountant Menu.
