Out Punch Completion - TWP

OutPunchCompletion is a rule in TimeWorksPlus that allows employees to punch IN while already clocked IN, in order to change labor allocation. The system automatically punches the employee OUT whenever there are two or more consecutive IN punches in a row.

OutPunchCompletion is available as a Processing Rule. You can enable this by:
  1. Going to Accountant Menu  and selecting Processing Rules under the Settings for currently selected client.
  2. Select the Processing category
  3. Click the OutPunchCompletion rule.
  4. Select if you want this rule to follow the same parameters of the PunchJoinSpan rule.
    • No from the dropdown means the timecard will not automate an outpunch if the IN punches are more than 12 hours apart. So if an employee clocks in at 4:00pm and forgets to clock out at the end of the day, then clocks back in at 5:00am the next day (more than 12 hours later), the time card will not insert an OUT punch between the two IN punches.
    • Yes means the time card will wait as long as the PunchJoinSpan rule before treating two consecutive IN punches as one set. The default time for the PunchJoinSpan is 18 hours. So, if the employee clocks in at 4:00pm and forgets to clock out at the end of the day, then clocks back in at 5:00am the next day (less than 18 hours later), the time card will insert an OUT punch between the two IN punches.
  5. Click Save
IMPORTANT: OutPunchCompletion cannot be used with the Auto Lunch feature. The only work around is to script for the lunch deduction.
